Jefferies Family

I have had the privilege of photographing Natasha since before she was even pregnant with the twins. Her beautiful face helped me win the Studio 414 photo contest many years ago. It has been wonderful being able to watch her family grow and photograph them along the way.

I met this darling family in Red Deer. They were my last family session for the year and they were such good sports. I left Calgary and it was warm and sunny, but the closer I got to Red Deer the colder, darker and more grey it became. By the time I got there it was freezing and blowing snow. But the kids did amazing and we were able to get some really cute photos. Thank you for braving the cold, Jefferies family! You guys are wonderful!

Sweet Baby James; a personal post

It's not often I can convince my kids to let me take their picture, and James is getting to that age where he refuses to sit still. But I was dying to try out my new softbox! I have the most wonderful friends and family, and was absolutely spoiled for my birthday - a new 5 foot softbox! Beautiful newborn nest and blanket! More photography gear, beautiful jewelry, gift cards for the mall, and so much more. I cannot express my gratitude enough for their kindness and generosity. Thank you all so much!

Anyways, this softbox has been calling my name and I finally put it together and attempted photos of baby James. No, he's definitely not a baby anymore, but he's MY baby. And although these images are not perfect (I'm still learning studio lighting! and James did not cooperate), I LOVE them.

I love his little body, his chubby fingers and toes. I love the dirty looks he can give that make me crack up. For 19 months old he's very polite, saying please and thank you more than his older siblings do. I love that he runs at a sprint to give a hug and kiss. I love my time snuggling him at night when the older kids are in bed. I love his silliness and his tender heart. I love this little boy. He's stolen my heart.

Strong - Calgary Family Photography

I love my job! These are the most adorable girls. And their lashes!!! Are you kidding me? I'd love to have lashes like theirs. I met Sarah back in my Edmonton days and we became great friends. You can imagine my excitement when I found out they were moving to Calgary!!

I had so much fun with Sarah and her family. We ran around Fish Creek Park to try and stay warm. I'm missing the warm summer nights already and winter has barely started!

Thanks for the fun evening. And Sarah, you are beautiful. Period.

Rosie - 5 days new

HaPPy HaLLoWeeN!! I love Halloween! It's my second favorite holiday (Christmas is number 1). I've been a little behind this year though. With birthdays, photo sessions, planning a daddy daughter gala and planning a family trip, well, costumes have been last on the list. Regardless, I'm excited to get the kids dressed up and go out trick or treating! I hope you all have a fun night!!

So back to the photos.... Here's my beautiful niece at 5 days new. She sure gave me a run for my money - I think she peed on me at least 3 times, pooped twice and did NOT want to sleep. But she finally gave in and I was able to get a few images that I'm in love with. A big thanks again to Laura for the beautiful props. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I go to her studio!

Rosie's Birth Day - Calgary Birth Photography

Ashley patiently waited 12 extra days for little Rosie to arrive. Rosie held on just long enough so she wouldn't have to share her birthday with her auntie (not that I would've minded). But she came safe and sound and nice and rosy into the world.

Ashley did beautifully! I am amazed at how she handled everything. I keep telling her she should have a dozen kids because first of all, they're so dang cute! and secondly because she seems to breeze through pregnancy and delivery. No joke - 2 pushes and Rosie was here. All 8 pounds 14oz of her! I wish I could be like you, Ash.

Thanks for letting me be there. Oh, and the BYUI shirt my mom made since Rosie is grandbaby #11 and also Dave's (Rosie's dad) sport number!
